The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is India’s military cadet corps, with its headquarters in New Delhi. It was established in 1948 and has remained open voluntarily for both college and school students since then.
NCC is a Tri-Service Group comprising the Air Force, Army, and Indian Navy that is involved in grooming the country’s youth into patriotic, responsible, and well-disciplined citizens. Hence, the National Cadet Corps of our country acts as a voluntary organization that recruits cadets from universities, colleges, and schools all over India and provides them with basic military training courses in various parades and small arms.
Students are called cadets and are allotted rank based on performance and merit. The “B” and “C” Certificates are awarded when the cadet enters the second and third years of training, respectively.
We the cadets of the National Cadet Corps,
do solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India.
We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizens of our nation.
We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings.
NCC, Shivalik College, prepares students to be responsible citizens of the nation by helping them inculcate character, comradeship, discipline, and a secular outlook. By focusing on socio-economic scenarios, our students develop the spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service.
