Gender Sensitization Cell

At Shivalik College, we also conduct workshops, seminars, and awareness programs to educate students and staff about gender equality and the importance of mutual respect. The Gender Sensitization Cell actively collaborates with experts and organizations to implement initiatives that foster understanding and empathy among all members of our community. We are committed to promoting a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered to voice their concerns. Through our efforts, we aim to break stereotypes, eliminate biases, and create a space where individuality is celebrated, and every student can thrive without fear or discrimination.

Main objective of Gender Sensitization cell are:

  • Create Awareness on Gender Issues Among Students and Faculty The primary objective of our cell is to spread awareness by means of workshops, seminars, and campaigns. We believe that the first step to fighting against gender-based conflicts, including violence and sexual harassment, is to target the root causes.

  • Prevent and Address Sexual Harassment on Campus Our college follows a legal framework surrounding sexual harassment that helps us implement effective measures to make our campus a safe space for our students. With our policies adhering to the laws against sexual harassment, we address complaints promptly and sensitively.

  • Support Students Affected by Gender-Based Violence The Gender Sensitization Cell provides immediate help and support to students who have experienced gender-based violence. Our initiative includes providing emotional support, legal assistance, and counseling to help overcome the challenging instances.

  • Organize Gender Sensitization Programs and Events The team works actively to run various initiatives, including programs and events, that promote behavior modification and raise awareness. Our initiatives include workshops, awareness programs, women’s health & hygiene programs, and empowerment schemes.
