2. APPLICABILITY
2.1 This Admission Policy is valid for the academic year 2024-25.
3. Intake (SCE, COP & SIPS)
3.1 The number of seats for which admissions will be made to all the department in academic session 2024-25 is as under:

3.2 J&K MIGRANTS: 2 seats shall be reserved for J&K Migrants. These seats will be supernumerary and will be filled on the basis of merit in the 10+2 or equivalent examination passed and subject to the candidate complying with the minimum eligibility criteria. Kashmiri migrants will be required to submit the original certificate of migration duly signed by the competent authority or Relief Commissioner.
4. MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Provided that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream. e. Passed D. Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector. f. In the above cases, a suitable bridge Courses, if required such as in Mathematics may be conducted. |

5. GENERAL CONDITIONS
5.1 In the event, the Admission Committee of the College is not satisfied with the character of antecedents of an applicant(s), in the overall interest of maintaining the academic standards and discipline in the college, the college retains the exclusive right not to admit him/her to the college.
5.2 A student who furnishes particulars, which are found to be false, or suppresses information, shall not be considered for admission, and, if he/ she has been admitted on the basis of such information, besides legal action at his/her cost, his/her admission shall stand automatically cancelled and the entire fee whatsoever paid by him/her shall stand fully forfeited.
5.3 Mere possession of the prescribed academic qualifications does not entitle a candidate for admission. Candidates shall have to fulfil all other conditions as spelt out in the Admission Policy.
5.4 Students/ parents are cautioned not to use any intermediary or broker for securing admission. Besides being illegal such inaction could render the candidate not eligible to participate in the admission process.
5.5 Unless clearly specified that they are not eligible, students who may be appearing for compartment examinations may also apply for admission. However, it is made clear that they must comply with the minimum eligibility criteria one day prior to the date of display of the first admission, failing which, they shall not be considered for admission Proof of clearing the compartment examinations will need to be submitted by the students before the last day of admission.
5.6 A student who wishes to be admitted after a gap period of one year and/or, more (after passing the qualifying examination) shall along with his/her application for admission submit an affidavit duly notarized, justifying the reason of the gap period and certifying that he/she had not taken admission in any college and has not been rusticated or had not been sentenced to jail for a criminal offence.
6 ADMISSION COMMITTEE (For Management Seats)
6.1 Admissions shall be made by 4 member Admission Committee comprising of faculty of the College and Industry experts to be nominated by the Director. The Committee will be headed by a person who has experience in the field of admissions.
6.2 The Committee shall scrutinize the Application Forms for admission of the candidates in accordance with the conditions of admission prescribed in the Admission Policy and Selection Procedure and the relevant ordinances of the College.
6.3 The decision of the admission committee on any matter concerning the admission policy and selection procedure shall be final and binding on all concerned subject to review as provided.
7. ADMISSION NOTICE
7.1 To fill seats in different programs (academic session 2024-25) the college shall publish an admission notice inviting applications from interested candidates. The admission notice shall be published in at least two national dailies or their education supplements.
7.2 A copy of the admission notice along with this Admission Policy and Selection Procedure 2022 shall be uploaded on the website of the College https://www.shivalikcollege.edu.in/ for the information of all concerned not later than the date the first admission notice is published in the national dailies or their education supplements
7.3 Admission notice shall clearly provide the website details from where the following information can be obtained
(a) Minimum eligibility conditions for applicants seeking admission in different programs.
(b) The number of seats intake in various programs.
(c) The Annual fee to be paid by the student
(d) Any other relevant issue of interest
8. HOW TO APPLY
8.1 A candidate can register himself/herself on the website of the College https://www.shivalikcollege.edu.in or can also obtained Form from the College campus up to the last date for submission of forms specified in the Admission Notice
8.2 Students seeking admission must apply on the prescribed application form only on or before the last date specified in the Admission Notice

8.7 It is made expressly clear that admissions shall be made only from amongst candidates who have applied within the stipulated time limit prescribed in the admission notice published by the College and have deposited the processing fee.
9 PROCESSING FEE
9.1 A processing fee of Rs 1,000/ (Rupees one thousand only) must be submitted with the duly completed application form
9.2 The processing fee can be paid online or cash. (Cheque will not be accepted under any circumstances).
9.3 The processing fee is non-refundable under any circumstances whatsoever.
10 Important Dates
10.1 Duly completed prescribed application should be submitted by eligible candidates in college on or before (date) along with the processing fee and the self-attested photocopies of relevant enclosures required.
10.2 Postal Applications will also be accepted if accompanied with the processing fee and postmarked on or before (date)
10.3 To avoid any confusion in preparing the merit list, in any case, no postal application will be accepted if received after (date), even if post marked on or before (date).
10.4 Application forms with processing fees shall only be accepted during the period specified above on all working days from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.
10.5 Applications received after the last date specified in the Admission Notice, for any reason whatsoever, shall not be considered under any circumstances. Accordingly, in their own interest, candidates should ensure timely submission of the application form/ processing fee.
10.6 Dates are subject to change solely at the discretion of the College. Change(s), if any, shall be notified on the website for the interest of all concerned.
11 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
11.1 Every applicant must insist on a receipt for the application and processing fee submitted by him/her.
11.2 The receipt shall constitute his / her only evidence for timely submission of the application with the processing fee.

13.1 Students who are selected on the basis of their merit must deposit their registration fee on or before 15 days of the offer letter for the purpose to secure their admission.
13.2 In the event a student fails to deposit his/her fee on or before the date specified, the offer of admission will stand automatically withdrawn and the student will have no claim whatsoever on the seat.

16. GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL
16.1 Grievance/complaints (if any) against any action/decision of the Admissions Committee can be made in writing to the student assistance cell( sac@shivalikcollege.edu.in) or Director of the College.
16.2 In case there is any ambiguity whatsoever with respect to this policy, his written interpretation / clarification / decision shall be final and binding on all concerned.
17. LAST DATE FOR CANCELLATION/ WITHDRAWAL OF ADMISSION
17.1 As per the competent authority, no seat(s) can be filled after the last date of admission. Under the circumstances, if unfilled seat(s) are not filled before the last date of admission, such seat(s) will remain vacant for the next years since. Therefore, to give the college enough time to find suitable students/ replacements for their vacant/ dropout seats, the last date for cancellation withdrawal of admission has deliberately been kept 15 days before the last date of admission.
17.2 Accordingly, students desirous of cancelling their admission MUST NOT confuse the last date of admission to be the last date for cancellation/ withdrawal of admission.
18. REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY
18.1 All requests for cancellations/withdrawal of admission must be made in writing or via mail and must be accompanied with the original fee receipt. Requests made verbally or chat or without the original fee receipt shall not be entertained.
18.2 In case a student withdraws his/her admission before the last date of withdrawal date the fee deposited by him/her shall be refunded after deducting Rs 1000/ (One thousand only).
18.3 The refund shall be made in the name of the student by crossed account payee cheque only and shall be mailed by Registered post to the student within 15 days of intimation to the college. There is no need for the student and / or his/her parent to visit the College in this regard
18.4 In case a student does not have a bank account and wishes to have his/her refund cheque in the name of either parent, he/she shall submit a notarized affidavit along with the application for withdrawal.
18.5 In case of withdrawal after the last date of withdrawal (date), but before the last date of admission (date) the fee deposited will only be refunded if the vacated seat has been filled before the last date of admission, Refund if at all, in this case will be subject to a deduction of Rs.1000/
18.6 In case the withdrawal is after joining the course and the vacated seat is not filled only security amount will be refunded, else no refund will be initiated if the seat is not filled.
19. MID COURSE WITHDRAWALS
19.1 Since no mid-course admissions can be made by the college to fill a vacancy caused by a mid-course withdrawal. No objection certificate or Migration/ Transfer Certificate for a mid-course withdrawal shall only be given by the College to a student after he/she has deposited the balance years fees and any other dues outstanding to the College as per affidavit submitted at the time of admission.
20. LAST DATE OF ADMISSION
20.1 No admission to the course shall be made after (last date of admission) under any circumstances.
20.2 The last date of admission shall be announced by Uttarakhand Technical University, Sri Dev Suman University, Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education Roorkee, AICTE or PCI.
21. HOSTEL FEE REFUND POLICY
21.1 Hostel allotment is made for 1 academic year only.
21.2 Cancellation charges for hostels will be as per rules. (Rs 5000/- If cancellation is done before joining the hostel). Refund will be made up to a period of 30 days.
21.3 No fee shall be refunded after last date of admission/commencement of classes.
21.4 No refund is permitted during the middle of the course.
21.5 Refund is not permitted if the student is expelled from the hostel.
22. ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
22.1 Ragging, its abetment, eve teasing and / or any kind of mental or physical harassment, either directly or indirectly, of any student) by whatsoever name called which may hurt the sensibilities or self-esteem of a student(s), inside or outside the College and/ or its hostel(s)/ mess, cafeteria is strictly prohibited by law and as held by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in its order dated 08/05/2009 in the case titled University of Kerala Vs Council, Principal’s College Kerala & others bearing CA No. 887/2009
Disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act, which has the effect of teasing treating or handling with rudeness any other students, indulging in rowdy or in disciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or junior student(s) or asking the student(s) to do any act or perform something, which such student(s) will not do in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique of psyche of a fresher or a junior student shall constitute an act of ragging.
22.2 Association, active or passive, with any unlawful organization including holding and/ or participating in demonstrations, inciting violence, displaying notices or circulating handbills in the College and/or its hostel (s)/mess strictly prohibited.
22.3 Smoking, consumption of alcohol, drugs or any other intoxicant by whatsoever name called within the College premises and/or its hostel (s)/mess is strictly prohibited by law.
Besides police/legal action, a student found indulging in any such activity(s) shall be expelled from the College. In case of expulsion from the college, under such circumstances, the student’s tuition, development and /or any other fee paid by him/her shall be forfeited.
23. LIMITED LIABILITY
All admissions made by the Admission Committee are provisional and subject to confirmation by the head of the College. If the admission of any candidate(s) is not confirmed by the Director of the college, for any reason whatsoever, the liability of the college will be limited only to the refund of full fees paid by the candidate(s) and that there shall be no further consequent liability on the college or any of its employee(s).
24. JURISDICTION
On any dispute arising out of or in respect of admission, the director/ principal, Shivalik College Dehradun, or his nominee’s decision shall be final. All matters shall be subject to dehradun jurisdiction.
