
The “Academic Conclave – Viksit Bharat 2047: The Transformative Role of Higher Education,” was held on Saturday, 30th May 2026 at Shivalik College of Engineering, Dehradun. The event provided a platform for meaningful discussion on the subjects of education, innovation, and nation-building.
The academic conclave was graced by the presence of the National President of BJP, Shri Nitin Nabin Ji, as the Chief Guest. Shri Nitin Ji was joined by Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami JI, Higher Education Minister, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat Ji, and BJP State President, Shri Mahendra Bhatt Ji, who added distinction to the occasion.
On this occasion, a newly constructed, state-of-the-art auditorium within the Shivalik College campus was also inaugurated. This auditorium is set to provide a new direction to the academic, cultural, and research activities of the students, while offering a platform equipped with modern amenities for hosting large-scale events.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by the Saraswati Vandana, an invocation to Goddess Saraswati. Shri Sunil Kumar Ji, Chairman of Shivalik College of Engineering, welcomed the Chief Guest, Shri Nitin Naveen, and the distinguished guests, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami. Welcoming all the guests, Vice Chairman Shri Ajay Kumar stated that the institution is committed to promoting quality education, research, skill development, and innovation, in alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Citing various national accreditations and recognitions received by the college, he affirmed that Shivalik is continuously striving towards excellence.
In his address, Chief Guest Shri Nitin Naveen remarked that the dream of a Viksit Bharat 2047 will be realized not merely through government schemes, but through the active participation of educational institutions, educators, and the youth. He emphasized that adapting the country’s education system to meet evolving global requirements is the need of the hour.
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami Ji stated that the youth of Uttarakhand constitute the nation’s greatest strength. He inspired students to not only seek employment but also to become job creators. The Chief Minister asserted that innovation, startups, and a research-oriented mindset would serve as the very cornerstone of a Developed India (Viksit Bharat). He urged students to develop technological solutions for local problems and to establish enterprises aligned with the needs of society.
During the conclave, Prof. Rajiv Ahuja (Director, IIT Ropar), Prof. Shri Prakash Singh (Vice-Chancellor, Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal Central University), and Prof. (Dr.) Tripta Thakur (Vice-Chancellor, Uttarakhand Technical University) also shared their insights.
Bringing together the realms of education, policy, innovation, and nation-building on a single platform, this academic conclave proved to be an inspiring and enlightening experience for all participants.
