Shri Ram Nath Kovind served as the 14th President of India from 2017 to 2022.
Born on October 1, 1945, in Paraunkh, Uttar Pradesh, he came from a modest background.
He pursued a law degree from Kanpur University before starting his legal career.
Kovind practiced law in the Delhi High Court and Supreme Court for over 16 years.
He was a Rajya Sabha MP from 1994 to 2006, advocating for education and development.
Before becoming President, he served as the Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017.
Kovind was the second Dalit President of India and the first from the BJP.
